![]() Was trying to fish the thing out with two screwdrivers, and it ended up working it's way down under the little white plate and now I have no clue where it is. Went to use a funnel, the ****ing funnel breaks the top off the brittle-ass floating level gauge So i decided to simply fill & bleed it the proper way since when i filled it the first time about 2-3 weeks ago, I didn't bleed it i just filled it, and thought it was full. If you fix the leak it will stop the light going on unless the sensor is faulty. once the coolant level goes below the sensor it turns the light on. yes they had flushed/filled/bled the system at that timeģ. it is the coolant level sensor that is making the light come on, your car does not have to be overheating for it to come on. ![]() (problem wound up being just cabin temp sensor unplugged). pesky SES light and dealer ended up replacing radiator outlet temp sensor & hose, and thermostat. ![]() it was about jan/feb 2009 when the cooling system was last touched, and by the dealer. yes on a lift, we were watching from underneath everything with no drips no wet spots etcĢ. Oh, bleed cold and follow directions above, which I presume include heater on high/temp to max/fan on low.and car OFF (big controversy on this.warm or cool bleeding.I follow what I understand as the directions.and bleed cool!)ġ. So, my advise, if anywhere between 75-150K oling overhaul.replace everything I've mentioned, plus, of course, up/lower hoses, ET (THE most common source of leaks.therm/WP also prone to failure) and maybe radiator if above 120K or so (my original just got replaced due to minor seeping.196K miles!) Gaskets around therm/WP.if you've been lucky, device might've outlived gasket (doesn't seem too likely, but you never know) Hoses fail.though mine original heater lines seemed good still. If no drips are present, have you looked with good flashlight.removed underskirt? What's your mileage? If high and engine otherwise hasn't had much work done.any number of things in system could seep. ![]() Maybe bleeding, but I'm also thinking you could have a leak and haven't looked hard enough to find it.įirst, keep your coolant level between min and max so you can monitor level.and there is no overfull mark.so be careful.maybe a cup between min and max. However, decent possibility the sensor is working and it is something else. If the light doesn't go off.not sensor.so go back up the line to figure it out. Swap your ET level sensor with the one from the windshield washer tank (I haven't done this myself, but have read they're the same sensor enough here to believe that's true). ![]()
